Following your passion is so important, whatever age you are…
What is that saying? Life is too short…
Let me explain more about following your passion
I want to tell you a little bit about me and my life. Let me tell you how I came to be the passionate therapist you see today.
Where it began…
From way back when, I had always had an interest in beauty. I think it is so interesting how the body and mind work. I guess it quickly became my passion.
Years ago I began a make up course at my local college, which I loved. Unfortunately I had to leave the course as I felt the timing wasn’t quite right, and I wasn’t spending enough time with my daughter in her early years.
Being a single parent is hard, and I wanted to be there for my daughter, which made the course impossible, let alone being able to do it as a job. I was really sad, but felt it was the right decision at the time.
Beauty always stayed with me. I knew I would take another course at some point, I had to follow my dreams and my passion. I just felt I could deliver remarkable results.
Anyone who has been made redundant knows what an awful thing it is to happen. However, for me it seemed like perfect timing.
Sounds crazy doesn’t it?
I had been working at a house builders as a secretary and just below was a beauty salon. Obviously this had caught my eye and it kept reinforcing to me that I really wanted to look again at beauty courses.
This time, though, I had set my mind on a Hot Stone Massage course.
It all works out, I knew it would
I got a redundancy pay out and I ended up going to night school to do the full beauty level 2 NVQ. Right from the get go, I loved it.
You guessed it, especially the massage side of things. I really felt like I had found my calling; found my passion.
Whatever it takes
I ended up with a job in an award winning salon. I gained so much experience. This was when I knew this was an incredible opportunity to live out my passion.
I then went mobile and started doing treatments in people’s homes. I loved working with people.
My passion, though, is with older people. The absolute delight I feel, when they feel so good. You know when you see someone’s mobility or mindset improve from having a treatment. That feeling is indescribable.
I knew what was the right thing
I know there is luck out there. But, we also work hard for things.
I believe in the Law of Attraction and what you put out, comes back.
Working with older clients was where I wanted to be. And, after many years of doing mobile, along side another job I found my beautiful room in The Wellbeing Suite at Webb Ellis Court in Rugby.
This was perfect!!
